What to see

The Royal Apartments

From the grand staircase you climb up to the Bourbon apartments: throne rooms, bedrooms, the library, the royal nativity scene and the Picture Gallery. It is the most spectacular part of the interior.

The Royal Park

From the rear façade a water avenue about three kilometres long stretches out, with pools and fountains rising up to the Great Waterfall and the fountain of Diana and Actaeon. You can walk it (it takes time), cycle it on a hired bike or take the internal shuttle.

The English Garden

At the top of the park, a romantic garden with rare plants, ponds and fake ruins, created at the wish of Queen Maria Carolina.

Tip: visit the apartments first, then the park: the park is huge and at its best in the middle of the day. Bring water and comfortable shoes, and don't go on a Tuesday.

How to get there from Naples

Regional trains to Caserta leave from Napoli Centrale station throughout the day; the journey takes less than an hour. The palace is right in front of Caserta station, about 500 metres away. Staying in the Central Station area gives you an advantage for this and the other day trips by train.
