The best spots on land
Lungomare Caracciolo and Rotonda Diaz
This is the main grandstand: a long pedestrian stretch right in front of the race course. During the preliminary regatta in September 2026 the event village was at Rotonda Diaz, with free entry. It is the most convenient spot and also the most crowded.
Castel dell'Ovo and Borgo Marinari
From the tip of Castel dell'Ovo and from Borgo Marinari, the little harbour beneath the castle, you can see the open bay towards Posillipo. Get there early: there is not much space on the pier.
Mergellina and Posillipo
From Mergellina you look straight at the race course, with smaller crowds than at Rotonda Diaz. Heading up to Posillipo, the viewpoints and the paths down to the sea give you a view of the boats from above.
Nisida and Coroglio
To the west, from the Coroglio area you can see the islet of Nisida and you are close to Bagnoli, where the team bases and the free sports village are: there you can watch the boats go out and come back in.
Note: the official viewing points, any giant screens and the areas closed to the public for 2027 have not been announced yet. We will update this page as soon as the City Council and the organisers publish the programme.
Getting there
- Metro Line 2: Mergellina and Piazza Amedeo stops, a few minutes' walk from the seafront.
- Line 1: Municipio stop, then walk towards Castel dell'Ovo.
- To Bagnoli: the Cumana train (a local railway line) or Line 2 to Bagnoli.
- By car: not recommended. On race days there are traffic and navigation restrictions.
What to bring
- Water, a hat and sunscreen: between late May and July the seafront is in full sun with little shade.
- Binoculars, if you have them: the boats sometimes move further out to sea.
- A charged smartphone to follow the live coverage and scores on the official app or website.
