Amalfi Coast: new SITA bus times from 2 November, last bus to Sorrento at 19:00 and alternate plates over
From 2 November 2026 to 21 March 2027 the Amalfi Coast has new SITA bus times: the last bus from Amalfi to Sorrento leaves at 19:00. Alternate-plate driving on the SS163 coast road ended on 31 October.

What changes
- From Monday 2 November SITA changes the times of 5 lines on the Coast.
- There are fewer evening buses: the last Amalfi-Sorrento bus moves from 21:30 to 19:00.
- The alternate-plate calendar on the SS163 ended on Saturday 31 October.
The lines are Amalfi-Positano-Sorrento, Amalfi-Maiori-Salerno, Amalfi-Agerola, Scala-Ravello-Amalfi and Maiori-Tramonti.

Sorrento to Amalfi takes about 1 hour 40. Amalfi to Positano Sponda takes about 40 minutes.

Other changes
- From 3 November, on a trial basis, the Mon-Sat 18:30 and 21:00 buses from Amalfi to Ravello and Scala also call at Pontone.
- From 29 October, also on a trial basis, the 5:40 bus from Sant'Agata to Amalfi leaves at 5:30.
By car
On the SS163 from Vietri sul Mare to Positano, the 2026 alternate-plate calendar has no more dates after 31 October. Anas rules for heavy and oversized vehicles remain in place.
Tip: if you are staying in Sorrento and spending the day in Amalfi, head back before 19:00. Miss the last bus and the next one is the following morning.
