When it starts
Mayor Luigi Muro wrote that a new ferry will start soon, in both directions. There is no precise date yet.
Sailings can only begin once they are added to the port's berthing timetable. Fares and ticket details do not appear to have been published either.
What it means for visitors
- If the times are confirmed, a day trip becomes more flexible: leaving at 7:45 and returning at 19:30 gives you a full day on the island.
- The ferry takes about 1 hour. The hydrofoil takes about 40 minutes but leaves from Beverello or Mergellina.
- For now, use the operators already running: winter timetables have fewer sailings, and hydrofoils can be cancelled in rough seas.
Procida is easy to explore on foot, with buses and microtaxis for longer distances. Porta di Massa is about 10 minutes on foot from Molo Beverello.
Tip: until the service is confirmed, do not build your day around these sailings. Check the operator's timetable the day before, especially for the last boat back.
