Royal Palace of Caserta: the Giardino della Camelia bistro opens in the Royal Park, at the start of the Via d'Acqua
The Royal Park of Caserta has a new place to stop: the Giardino della Camelia, a bistro and workshop space. It opens from 9:00 until 30 minutes before the Park closes.

What you'll find
- Bistro: plant-forward dishes, herbal teas and local specialities, mostly with organic ingredients from social farming projects.

The Giardino della Camelia opened on 14 October 2026 and has welcomed the public since 15 October. It occupies the Park's former guardhouse, an old farmhouse once used to watch over the gardens, now restored.
Who runs it
- It comes from a partnership between the Royal Palace Museum and the social cooperatives EVA, Terra Felix and CARLA.
- The kitchen employs 10 women, trained by Caserta chef Rosanna Marziale.
What it means for visitors
- In November the Park (Bosco Vecchio and Via d'Acqua) opens 8:30–15:30, last entry 14:30: so the bistro closes around 15:00.
- The English Garden opens 8:30–15:00, last entry 14:00.
- The Royal Apartments stay open until 19:15, last entry 18:15.
- The palace is closed on Tuesdays, 25 December and 1 January.
Tip: in autumn, flip the usual route. Do the Park in the morning with a break at the Giardino della Camelia, then the Royal Apartments in the afternoon, as they close much later.
