What is Comicon
Born in Naples in the late 1990s, Comicon has become one of Italy's leading pop culture festivals. For four days the pavilions and avenues fill up with publishers' and comic shops' stands, talks with writers and artists, video game tournaments, film and series previews, concerts and above all cosplayers: wandering through the costumed crowds is half the fun.
In 2026 the festival was split into themed areas: Comics, Video Games, Film and TV, Games, Asian, Music, Cosplay, Young, LARP, Urban and PizzaPop, devoted to food. The layout will probably be similar, but the 2027 programme has not been published yet.
2027 dates and venue
The organisers have already set the dates: 29 April to 2 May 2027, Thursday to Sunday, including the 1 May public holiday (a Saturday). Since 2012 the venue has been the Mostra d'Oltremare in Fuorigrotta, the exhibition grounds that also hosted the 2026 edition (30 April to 3 May).
Guests, programme, opening hours and ticket prices for 2027 are not known yet: the official online box office is not selling tickets at the moment. We will update this page as soon as they are out.
Getting there
- Metro Line 2 to Campi Flegrei, a short walk from the Mostra d'Oltremare entrances.
- The Cumana train to Mostra station.
- Driving is not recommended: parking nearby fills up early during the festival.

Tips for visitors
- Book your accommodation now. Comicon falls on the 1 May long weekend, one of the busiest times of year in Naples: prices rise and rooms sell out early.
- Pick a convenient base. If you stay near Line 2, for example in Mergellina, Chiaia or the Central Station area, you can reach the festival in a few minutes without changing.
- Buy your ticket online as soon as sales open, to skip the box office queue.
- Combine the festival with the city. Spring days are perfect for the seafront and a day trip to Pompeii or Procida before or after the fair.
