Ischia in winter: thermal baths and gardens, what stays open from November 2026
Ischia's big thermal parks have closed, but the island is not at a standstill. La Mortella continues with guided tours on Thursdays at 14:30, Sorgeto stays free and the Aragonese Castle opens every day.

What is open and what is not
- Closed: the Negombo thermal park (since 11 October) and Poseidon Gardens (since 31 October).
- Still open: the Royal Terme spa in Ischia Porto until 15 November.
- Free: Sorgeto, the Fumarole and Olmitello, on Maronti beach.
- Guided only: La Mortella, after its seasonal closure.
- Every day: the Aragonese Castle, from 9:00 to sunset. The last ticket is sold an hour and a half before closing.
The thermal parks' 2027 reopening dates have not been announced yet.

La Mortella in winter
After its last regular day on 1 November, the garden in Forio can be visited every Thursday at 14:30, only with a guide and by booking. Book on +39 081 990118.
Ask when the first tour runs: in 2025 the winter tours began on 20 November. In 2026 La Mortella received a Tripadvisor Travellers' Choice award.
The free hot springs
- Sorgeto (Forio): hot water among the rocks. You go down more than 200 steps.
- Fumarole and Olmitello: on Maronti beach, with no beach clubs in low season.
For indoor baths, look to the hotels: some stay open, many close from November to March. Always ask which services run on your dates.
Tip: for a day trip from Naples, pick a Thursday: the Aragonese Castle in the morning, then La Mortella at 14:30. Book before you leave and check the sea forecast.
