Alibus: the cheapest way
The Alibus is the bus run by Naples' public transport company (ANM) that links the airport with the city. It stops at Piazza Garibaldi, in front of the Central Station, and continues to the port, with stops at Immacolatella and Molo Beverello, where the hydrofoils leave for Capri, Ischia and Procida.
- The ticket costs about €5 and is valid for 90 minutes: you can also use it on an ANM bus or metro straight afterwards.
- Buses run from 6:00 until late evening, more often at peak times.
- It is easy with luggage: there is dedicated space on board.
Tip: if you are heading to the historic centre or Via Toledo, get off at Piazza Garibaldi and take metro Line 1 (Garibaldi station) towards Toledo, Municipio or Università, or Line 2. The Alibus ticket covers this leg too if you are within the 90 minutes.
Taxi: convenient for groups
For the city's main areas (centre, Central Station, port, Mergellina) the City of Naples sets fixed fares: you don't pay by the meter but a set amount, with a small supplement at night and for extra luggage. Before setting off, ask the driver to apply the fixed fare for your destination and check the fare table displayed in the taxi. For three or four people a taxi can cost only a little more than the Alibus.
Only take a taxi from the official rank in front of Arrivals: white cars marked TAXI with a licence number.
